Interactive workshops facilitated by professionals and experts from local universities on subjects such as finding scholarships, college loans, writing your college essay, developing a resume, self advocacy, choosing a college and future careers.
Mentoring Program
One-on-one mentoring where students can receive mentoring from a college student or a professional in academics and the college application process.
USJ Scholarship Opportunity
(FOR USJ SENIORS ONLY)
Every year USJ awards scholarship money to selected seniors who have attended USJ events, embody a USJ spirit and apply for the scholarship.
A support network
Our group of students will feel a sense of family in our program through the individualized attention and guidance they will receive from the board members, the facilitators, their mentors and their peers. Many of our students have called USJ a “familia” or family because we also create social opportunities to bond, such as our soccer tournament and team building activities. We also follow up on students’ progress and provide them with information about additional scholarship and internship information.
