Mentoring for students

Mentoring for students

Our mentors provide guidance on the college process

Having a guide who shares your experiences can really help. This is why mentoring is a fundamental part of the USJ program. At USJ, our mentors are college students and professionals from a variety of careers. Many of them have personal experience overcoming major obstacles to getting into college.

They are determined to use their talents and experiences to help our students succeed. As part of their work with our students, the mentors help with college and scholarship applications, edit essays, review resumes, and share tips and techniques they used to successfully conquer the college application process. They also answer questions about the college experience and keep in touch with students via text and email to advise and encourage their mentees throughout the year.
